The New Jersey Language and Autism Genetics Study (NJLAGS)

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Start Date: January 21st, 2016
End Date: June 30th, 2017

NJLAGS is focused on understanding how genes influence the development of autism in families. We are especially interested in developing biomarkers for language and communication. Families who participate receive a comprehensive psycho-educational battery of language, reading, and cognitive assessments administered at Rutgers or in your own home and all family members donate a blood sample for DNA/genetic analysis. Family members each receive results of standardized testing and a gift card.

Eligibility: Families are eligible if they are English-speaking with at least one family member suspected of having an autism spectrum disorder and language impairment and at least one other family member with a history of language comprehension, speaking or reading problems.
