Researchers at the Oregon Research Institute (ORI) are testing a new online tool to help caregivers play with their children with autism.
What are the goals of the study?
The purpose of this research study is to test the feasibility of a mobile app for teaching play skills to caregivers of children with autism. The results of the study will help us improve this tool.
What will happen during the visit or online?
You will be asked to complete questionnaires at the beginning and end of the study. You will be asked to record videos of you playing with your child. You will be asked to upload the videos to the app. You will be asked to use the mobile app. The mobile app has short videos and interactive activities. You will be asked to have three (3) video calls with a coach. The coach will give you suggestions about how to play with your child based on the videos you uploaded.
How will this help families?
This study will teach caregivers skills to make playtime with their children with autism more enjoyable.
