Autism Journey Research Study
What's the study about?
The purpose of this study is to explore how cultural, racial, and religious factors may influence families’ experiences with the diagnosis and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Who can participate?
Culturally, racially, religiously diverse parents and caregivers of children with ASD.
What will participants be doing?
Participants will be asked to complete a demographic questionnaire that will take approximately 10–15 minutes to complete. The questionnaire includes questions related to personal background, family information, cultural identity, religious or spiritual beliefs, socioeconomic information, and experiences with ASD diagnosis and treatment. Afterwards they will participate in a semi-structured interview about their experiences which will last approximately 30-60 minutes.
Why is this important?
Participation may contribute to a better understanding of how cultural, racial, and religious factors influence families’ experiences with ASD diagnosis and treatment. The findings may help inform future research and culturally responsive practices in the field.
