What's the study about?

Between siblings, the rate of autism increases to every 1 in 5. This study aims to carefully review medical records of siblings who have had ASD Insight, including at least one with a known diagnosis of autism to look for clinical patterns within families who have had an ASD Insight test.

ASD Insight is a clinically available test designed to detect ASD risk through skin. Earlier identification of ASD may allow for earlier monitoring and intervention, which are associated with improved outcomes in individuals with ASD.

Who can participate?

We are looking for a person with autism and their sibling.

You or your children may be eligible if the person(s) enrolling in the study are:
1. between the ages of 0-70
2. siblings, one with a diagnosis of ASD, the other no known diagnosis of ASD
3. not pregnant or nursing

Siblings who are not born yet are also eligible for enrollment any time after birth.
Volunteers will be screened for eligibility with a phone call prior to participation.

What will participants be doing?

The study can be completed in less than 15 minutes to fill out a health history question and medical records release form, with annual contact for updates for 5 years. People can enroll in the study after ASD Insight has been ordered as a clinical test from a qualified healthcare provider, including through our telehealth partner.

Why is this important?

This study has the potential to advance the investigation of ASD biomarkers and ultimately benefit individuals with ASD and their families through improved clinical guidance and accelerated access to supportive services. Current ASD diagnostic assessments are behavioral and typically reliable only after age 2 years. ASD Insightâ„¢ uses biological signals to detect ASD risk during a critical window of development, enabling intervention for improved patient outcomes.
