Autism and Law Enforcement
What's the study about?
We are conducting an online (anonymous) survey of the experience’s persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder have had in interacting with the police. By better understanding these experiences, we can promote resources and recommendations for satisfaction, safety, and mutual cooperation during interactions with law enforcement.
Who can participate?
Adults with an autism diagnosis that have had an experience with law enforcement (positive or negative).
What will participants be doing?
This survey typically takes about 15-20 minutes to complete. It includes scales and free responses.
Why is this important?
In order to promotes safety, satisfaction, and cooperation between ASD individuals and law enforcement, we must understand the current phenomenon when these interactions occur. With this understanding, we can present some possible recommendations that might better harmonize these two groups in society and create more positive interactions.
