What's the study about?

Our study, Genomics of Autism in Latinx Ancestries (GALA), aims to investigate genetic risk for autism in people of Hispanic/Latinx ancestry. The study entails providing blood (or saliva) samples and clinical evaluations. The purpose of the study is to better understand ASD to create new diagnostic, treatment and preventative measures for the future.

Who can participate?

-Participants (Ages 2-50) with confirmed, or suspected, autism spectrum disorder
-Participant with autism and one or both biological parents able to provide blood or saliva sample

What will participants be doing?

Participants must have a prior ASD diagnosis or can complete clinical assessments to confirm suspected ASD. This study will require 1-2 in person visits, depending on if you have a prior ASD diagnosis. Compensation is provided for family participation and completion of evaluations.

Why is this important?

The purpose of the study is to better understand ASD to create new diagnostic, treatment and preventative measures for the future.
