What's the study about?

We are recruiting a) adults with these neurotypes/diagnoses and b) their loved ones to participate in up to 4 (four) 30-minute surveys about coping strategies. This will help us understand how coping strategies develop and whether they apply across all contexts. You will be compensated for your time.

Who can participate?

If you or a loved one is neurodivergent.

What will participants be doing?

Participants will be asked to complete up to four (4) online surveys, each approximately 30 minutes in length, over the course of the study. These surveys will ask about their coping strategies in different contexts, including home, school, work, and social environments. The surveys are completed independently at the participant’s convenience and do not require any in-person visits or specimen collection. Total participation time may range from 30 to 120 minutes, depending on the number of surveys completed. Participants will be compensated for their time.

Why is this important?

Our hope is to better capture social camouflaging and coping strategies a) beyond autism and across other neurotypes and  mental health conditions, and examine current understanding and description of social camouflaging across different perspectives (e.g., first-hand lived experience, from loved ones, from clinicians) to better inform support guidelines for autistic and/or neurodivergent folks.
