Survey on Eye Care for Adults with Neurodevelopmental Disorders
What's the study about?
This study aims to better understand the eye care experiences of adults with Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Researchers hope to learn about the challenges people face, what has worked well, and how eye care can be improved for adults with Neurodevelopmental Disorders
Who can participate?
Adults (18 years or older) with a Neurodevelopmental Disorder who have seen an eye care provider (optometrist or ophthalmologist) or have had eye care needs or concerns are eligible to participate. Caregivers and support persons for adults with Neurodevelopmental Disorders are also eligible to participate.
What will participants be doing?
Participants will complete an anonymous, online survey lasting about 10-15 minutes. They will be asked questions about their experiences with eye care, including their experiences transitioning from pediatric (children’s) to adult eye care.
Why is this important?
Adults with Neurodevelopmental Disorders may experience challenges getting the eye care they need, particularly during the transition from pediatric (children’s) to adult eye care. Information collected through this study will help
researchers better understand barriers to eye care, identify opportunities to improve access and the transition to adult services, and guide future efforts to make eye care more accessible and supportive for adults with Neurodevelopmental Disorders
