The Daily Decisions Study
What's the study about?
The Daily Decisions Study is a research study conducted by the University of South Carolina’s COLAB to better understand the day-to-day experiences of caregivers of young children with autism, particularly during meltdowns and other challenging situations.
Who can participate?
Eligible participants are caregivers (e.g., parents or legal guardians) of children ages 2–8 years with a confirmed autism diagnosis. Participants must be at least 18 years old, able to complete study activities in English, and have access to a smartphone to complete the daily mobile app surveys.
What will participants be doing?
Participants will complete baseline questionnaires, participate in a brief Zoom orientation, and use a mobile app for seven days to respond to short surveys about their daily experiences. At the end of the study, participants complete a brief exit interview to provide feedback about their experiences.
Why is this important?
Findings from this study will help researchers better understand caregiver experiences and inform future supports for families of children with autism.
