ASF Launches Faster, More Accessible Participate in Research Directory to Connect Families with Autism Research Studies
New York, NY — February 18, 2026 — The Autism Science Foundation (ASF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and funding innovative autism research, announced major updates today to its Participate in Research online directory—a free resource that helps individuals with autism and their families find opportunities to participate in research studies, while enabling researchers to share study information with the autism community.
The updated directory reflects ASF’s commitment to reducing barriers to research participation—making it easier for families to find relevant studies and for researchers to connect with potential participants more effectively. With more than 65 new studies listed, the redesigned directory offers a more intuitive search experience, helping users quickly refine results and identify research opportunities that may suit their interests. Listings now prioritize key details upfront, allowing families to understand study requirements and expectations at a glance.
The directory has also been optimized for mobile devices, making browsing and searching on phones and tablets much easier. Study listings now include visual indicators that provide quick insight into what participants may receive, such as compensation, study feedback, or access to services, supporting informed decision-making. Additionally, ASF introduced a new, integrated submission process that allows researchers to upload study information directly through the organization’s website at no cost. This change streamlines submissions and speeds up the review and posting of research listings.
“Participation is essential to advancing autism research, but families and researchers often face unnecessary hurdles,” said Alycia Halladay, PhD, Chief Science Officer at ASF. “These updates make it easier for families to find studies that fit their needs and for researchers to share opportunities quickly and clearly, helping research move forward more efficiently.”
The enhancements to the Participate in Research directory were supported by the Matthew Hillman Fisher Foundation. To search for current studies or submit a study for inclusion in the directory, visit: https://autismsciencefoundation.org/participate-in-research.
