Upcoming “Rides FAR” Bicycling Events Will Support New Autism Research

NEW YORK, August 28, 2023 — Rides FAR (For Autism Research), the annual charity cycling and walking event benefiting the Autism Science Foundation (ASF), today announced it has already raised over $650,000 in pre-event sponsorships from over 60 sponsors in the financial and fin-tech sectors.

Rides FAR, which was co-founded eight years ago by Bryan and Melissa Harkins, has raised over $3.5 million to date for ASF, expanding each year and attracting many of the most prominent firms on Wall Street and beyond. This year, Rides FAR will hold cycling/walking events on September 30th in New York, Baltimore/Columbia MD, and Toronto, and virtual riders and walkers can take place from around the world.

Top Rides FAR sponsors include Cboe, T.Rowe Price, XTX Markets, Trumid, RBC Capital Markets, Paxos, Hudson River Trading and Hybrid Financial. (See the full list of sponsors here.) Firms interested in joining the roster can find more information here; individual riders interested in signing up may do so here.

“This has become a “must-attend” event for the Wall Street community,” said Wall Street Rides FAR co-founder Bryan Harkins. “It’s a great opportunity not only to support a great charity but to network and bond with leaders in the financial and fin-tech communities. During the week we collaborate and even compete with each other, but on Ride Day, everyone comes together to support this great cause.”

“Given my family’s journey, I deeply appreciate the financial community’s generosity to support critically-needed autism research that will help people with autism achieve their full potential,” said Rides FAR board member Marc Wyatt, Head of Global Trading for T. Rowe Price.

All proceeds from Rides FAR go to ASF, a nonprofit organization that supports autism research to discover the causes of autism and develop new treatments. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that 1 in 36 children in the US has an autism spectrum disorder.
