Project Pathways: Mapping the Post-School Pathways of Immigrants with Disabilities

What's the study about?

We want to learn about the experiences of autistic immigrants, or those with other intellectual & developmental disabilities, after they finished high school. We want to know more about their education and work experiences after high school, and the decisions that impacted these post-school “pathways” or life experiences.

Who can participate?

To participate you must:

  • Be 18 years old or older;
  • Be on the autism spectrum (including Asperger’s)
  • Be a foreign-born resident of the United States (No further information regarding immigration status will be required to participate in this study)

What will participants be doing?

We will conduct a 1-hour interview to learn about your work and educational experiences after high school. Interviews can be interpreted in your preferred language and communication method.

Why is this important?

We hope that, in the future, other people might benefit from this study through an improved understanding of how to support immigrants with disabilities with post-school transitions and future planning.
