Participant Database for Persons Interested in Research Studies of Developmental Disorders
What's the study about?
Help Us Explore How the Brain Works! We use the latest, safest and non-invasive technologies to compare the brains of healthy individuals and individuals with developmental and sensory processing disorders disorders. We use MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) to take pictures of the brain, and MEG (MagnetoEncephaloGraphy) to record brain waves, and participants will also complete a variety of behavioral assessments. We hope to determine the causes of autism spectrum disorder and find ways to better autism spectrum disorder earlier.
Who can participate?
- Ages 14-32 with a diagnosis of being on the autism spectrum, with no implanted metals or metal braces
What will participants be doing?
Participation may include short assessments, online questionnaires, a brief MRI scan, and MEG scans. Commitment is 1-3 visits (5-6 hours in total).
Compensated $30-70/hour, reimbursed for travel/parking expenses, we will also provide a summary report of the participant’s cognitive test scores.
Why is this important?
We hope to determine the causes of autism spectrum disorder and find ways to detect autism spectrum disorder earlier in childhood.
